In addition to production from the United States and Mauritania where production commenced in February 2006, Sterling Energy has built a portfolio of exploration interests in Africa.

Sterling will be drilling in Gabon and the AGC later in 2007 as well as continuing its expanded development plans in the US following the acquisition of Whittier Energy Corporation.

Sterling is operator on licenses in three of its core areas in Africa: Madagascar, Gabon and Cameroon.
